Margaret "Maggie" Cecilia VanDyke, 68, Warsaw, died at 8:40 a.m. April 10, 2008 in her home.

She was born March 22, 1940, in Chicago, to Nichols and Marion Wydra VanDyke. On April 1, 1972, in South Carolina, she married Gerald VanDyke, who survives.

She moved to Warsaw in 1972, coming from Chicago. She was a homemaker.

Also surviving are two sons, David Gerth, Leesburg, and Eugene "Corky" (and spouse Susan) Gerth, Gainesville, Ga.; a daughter, Karen Hurt, Farmington, N.M.; three brothers: Nichols VanDyke, Louisiana; John VanDyke, Findlay, Ohio; and Steven (and spouse Fay) VanDyke, Warsaw; four sisters: Penny Harman, Findlay; Francis Penrod, Wisconsin; Bonnie Slanski, Holdrige, Neb.; Susan (and spouse George) Strickland, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren: Christy Walter, Lucas Hurt, Nathaniel Bodkin, Linda Flynn, Rachel Bodkin, Kevin Gerth, Mary Bodkin, Dylan Gerth, Tony Mullins, David Gerth, Colton Gerth, Brandon Gerth; five great-grandchildren: Austin and Michael Moore, Devin Norris, Vaughan Walter, and Audrey Bodkin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kevin Gerth.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Monsignor James Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
