WINONA LAKE – The Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams announced Marc Andrews as the assistant director of education.
In this role, he will provide strategic direction for the Lilly Center’s educational programs, according to a news release from the Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams.
“During his many years as an educator and a mentor, Marc has developed unique qualifications that make him a great fit for this position,” said Dr. Nate Bosch, Creighton Brothers endowed director of the Lilly Center. “His passion for teaching that reaches to multiple subjects demonstrates his desire to educate the next generation. Marc’s love for science makes him an asset to our team.”
Andrews spent 19 years teaching at Warsaw Community Schools, where he mentored student teachers, taught middle and elementary school students and coached an after-school archery club. Marc recently joined the Fort Wayne Zoo as an educational interpreter, where he engaged with guests and led discussions. Outside of work, Marc enjoys the outdoors, hunting, wildlife, and spending time with his family.
Andrews will serve an important role at the Lilly Center and with the students that the organization connects with. He will be facilitating K-12 field trips, managing the student aquarium team, facilitating the Lake in the Library program and mentoring college interns.
“I’m delighted to join the Lilly Center team, and I’m excited to make an impact by reaching thousands of students in our community,” said Andrews. “This is a great opportunity for me to equip students with the knowledge to keep our lakes and streams healthy. I look forward to developing curriculum, mentoring student interns, and making connections for K-12 students.”
