NORTH MANCHESTER – Homecoming Week, Oct. 4-9, is right around the corner

Manchester University is offering virtual and in-person events this year. While Manchester University looks forward to in-person reunions in the years to come, this year we will celebrate the classes of 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016 on the safety of Zoom, according to a news release from Manchester University

Throughout the week, you can enjoy virtual morning coffee hours on Facebook and Zoom with special guests from the University. Other fun virtual events during Homecoming Week include a 5k Virtual Run, painting party at home (Manchester University ships the supplies), family-fun experiments with Joel Eichenauer ’91, virtual college connections reunions, special homecoming via livestreamed on facebook, campus store flash sale and the 50th anniversary of the Environmental Studies department with a panel discussion hosted by Peace Studies.

If you are comfortable coming to campus, there is still a lot to do on Oct. 9.

First, stop by the Welcome Tent beginning at 11 a.m. and pick up some complimentary alumni goodies. Food will be available until 2 p.m. at several locations on campus. On your way to the football game against Defiance at 1:30 p.m., be sure to check out the Spartan Street Fair. Students will be selling items to raise funds for their different organizations. The annual Peace Studies dedication begins at 10 a.m. at the Gladdys Muir Peace Garden, with refreshments after the ceremony. We also have tennis matches beginning at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

For those coming to campus on Saturday, remember your masks. While optional for outdoor activities, masks are required inside all university buildings (except while you are eating). Please help keep Manchester safe and healthy.
