Manchester Council Moves Ahead With Utility Study

NORTH MANCHESTER - At Wednesday night's meeting, the North Manchester Town Council approved to engage Baker Tilly for an analysis of the municipal utilities' costs and revenues.

This study connects with the preliminary engineering reports (PER) on the water and wastewater plants as drawn up by Jeff Hersha, of Jones and Henry Engineers. Hersha, who reiterated his water PER at this meeting, will have the wastewater PER to present at July's regular meeting.

In other new business, the Council approved awarding a bid for the South Mill Street pavilion project to Western Steel Buildings of Fort Wayne, a request from Fire Chief Cam Kissinger to purchase 800 MHz radios for his department and a $25,000 request for funding from the Manchester Early Learning Center.

In old business, the Council approved one-time alcohol allowances for the Center for History's June 23 and Oct. 13 events, and for the Second Friday event on Aug. 12, on third reading. Councilmember Tom Dale abstained from voting.

In other business:

- Fireworks will be July 2, rain date July 3, at the high school.

- There was a town docket of $712,353.05 and a utilities docket of $234,437.78.

The Council will next meet at 7 p.m. July 6.
