NORTH MANCHESTER - At Wednesday night's meeting, the North Manchester Town Council voted to continue the town's emergency medical services (EMS) with Parkview.
Parkview sent in the only bid received. Town Manager Adam Penrod said even with the 13% increase in cost from the last contract, the town will not have to raise EMS fees for residents.
During visitor comments, Marilyn Groves, of Timbercrest, praised the town's EMS after both she and another resident at the senior living facility had to call 911 recently.
"I was amazed at their professionalism and compassion," Groves said.
The council also approved two resolutions to set areas of redevelopment opportunity. This documentation of redevelopment will be used for an Office of Community and Rural Affairs grant application.
Clerk-Treasurer Carrie Mugford reported a town docket of $815,898.81 and a utilities docket of $320,368.64.
Penrod said the town has received over 260 responses so far from the door hanger questionnaires on residents' homes regarding a lead service inventory. This data on lead service must be compiled for the Environmental Protection Agency by next October.
The council will next meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 6.
