A Warsaw man is facing firearm charges after allegedly threatening a person over Snapchat.

Marcus Anthony Hinkle, 19, of 2570 Belmont Drive, Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 3:32 p.m. Monday and faces charges of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Level 4 felony; and intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Monday in Kosciusko Superior Court I, on Dec. 30, Warsaw police took a report from a juvenile and the juvenile’s mother who said Hinkle had threatened the child.

Police reported that Hinkle and a man had been in an ongoing argument that turned physical on Dec. 29, to which police responded. According to the affidavit, the juvenile told police that she received a Snapchat from Hinkle on her phone with a picture of Hinkle “holding a black handgun with the words ‘I’m out for yo head ... ima kill yo b**** a**.’”

Court records indicate Hinkle was convicted of felony battery with moderate bodily injury on Nov. 1, 2018.

His bond is set at 15,250.
