Man Ends Up In Jail After Allegedly Strangling Girlfriend

A man is in jail for allegedly strangling a female relation during a fight to the point she was losing consciousness.
Homer Joe Knight, 26, of Columbia City, and also showing an address of 519 W. Winona Ave., Apt. E, Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 3:16 p.m. Wednesday on charges of strangulation, a Level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Oct. 10 in Kosciusko Superior Court III, on Sept. 18 Warsaw police spoke with a woman who said she and Knight were arguing and he grabbed her by the neck with both hands and began squeezing. The woman told police Knight pinned her against the wall and she could not breathe and started to lose consciousness. Court papers state that Knight only let go of the woman once she slide down the wall then used his hand to push her head into the wall.
Police reports state that the woman had bruising on her wrist and cheek, cuts on her face, her eyes were swollen and she had red marks on her neck from being strangled.
According to court records, Knight was convicted of battery on Dec. 16, 2012, in Whitley County Superior Court.
