Magical Meadows Hosting Volunteer Training, Rider Registration Day

Posted

The Magical Meadows is inviting new and returning volunteers, as well as prospective riders and families, to take part in a day of preparation and connection ahead of the 2026 therapeutic riding season.
On Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the organization will host its annual volunteer training, providing a experience for anyone interested in making a difference through equine-assisted services, according to a news release from The Magical Meadows.
During the training, participants will learn about the organization’s horses and the roles they play, gain an understanding of volunteer responsibilities and expectations, and review essential safety procedures and best practices. Attendees will also learn how to effectively support riders with a wide range of needs and abilities, while taking part in hands-on role-playing activities designed to build confidence and preparedness for the upcoming season. Lunch, including pizza and water, will be provided.
In addition to volunteer training, The Magical Meadows will also host Rider Registration from 2 to 5 p.m. Families and individuals interested in therapeutic horseback riding are encouraged to attend to register for the upcoming season, which begins the week of April 13.
Staff will be available on-site to assist with registration, conduct brief rider evaluations and introduce new riders to the horses. Attendees are encouraged to visit the organization’s website in advance to print and complete registration paperwork to bring with them on March 21.
In addition to its therapeutic riding program, The Magical Meadows offers its new Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) program. This ground-based program is designed to support children and adults who may be struggling with mental and emotional health challenges, including anxiety and depression. Through guided interactions with horses, participants build confidence, improve communication skills and develop emotional awareness in a safe and supportive environment, the release states. EAL sessions are available in both group and private formats, providing flexible options to meet a variety of needs.
