NAPPANEE – Lydia Mae Miller Schmucker, 83, of Nappanee, died at 7:45 p.m. April 7, 2013, in her residence after a six-month illness. She was born April 20, 1929, in Kosciusko County, to Jacob and Katie Ann Mast Miller. On April 24, 1952, she married Harvey E. Schmucker, who died Feb. 29, 2004. She was a member of Old Order Amish Church. Surviving are her children: Marvin (and spouse Ruth) Schmucker and Barbara (and spouse Jeff) Smith, all of Goshen; Raymond Schmucker, North Webster; John (and spouse Kati) Schmucker, Wakarusa; Mary Esther (and spouse Norman) Slabaugh, Etna Green; Emmon (and spouse Dana) Schmucker, Goshen; Katie Ann (and spouse Lloyd) Slabaugh, Nappanee; and Daniel (and spouse Ruth) Schmucker, Wakarusa; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Susie (and spouse David) Miller, Blair, Wis. She also was preceded in death by four children, a grandson, five brothers and four sisters. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lavern Chupp residence, 71052 CR 3, officiated by The Home Ministry of Old Order Amish Church. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
