ROCHESTER – Louise Skidmore Vernon, 95, of Rochester, died at 10:25 p.m. June 24, 2013, in her residence. She has born May 17, 1918, in Athens, to Joshua M. and Mary Shamp Willard. On Dec. 2, 1945, she married William T. Skidmore, who preceded her in death Aug. 9, 1984. Her second marriage was to John Vernon on Dec. 5, 1992, who preceded her in death May 31, 1996. In 1937, she became a member of the First Baptist Church, Rochester. After many years of service she retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. Surviving are a daughter, Kay (and spouse Carl) Myers, Fort Wayne; a son, Travis (and spouse Angel) Skidmore, Rochester; a sister, Wilmajean Tullis, Macy; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Dr. Mark Spencer and the Rev. Junior Bose officiating. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
