SYRACUSE – Louise Moore Weaver, 100, died May 13, 2015, at her residence. She was born March 29, 1915, to George E. Flora Crone Moore in their farmhouse on Highway 13 near Converse. In 1939, she married James M. Weaver, who died in 1995. They were married 55 years. She was raised near Converse and traveled to the one-room Drook schoolhouse in her teacher’s horse and buggy. After six years, she transferred to nearby Mier, which had three rooms and running water. She graduated from Converse High School, where she had the leads in two plays and two operettas. She and her family attended Richland Chapel Methodist Church. She attended Earlham College, Richmond, and then lived and worked in Columbus, Ohio, for several years. She moved to Marion, and worked at Indiana and Michigan Electric Company, where she met her husband. They lived in Marion for 10 years, where their only child, Charles, was born. James was transferred to Fort Wayne, where they lived for five years. She directed choirs at Grace Methodist, Marion, and Trinity Methodist, Fort Wayne. In 1955, they were transferred to Muncie and resided there for 20 years. She worked at Ball State University, and was active at High Street Methodist Church and in Phi Beta Psi sorority. When her husband retired in 1975 from I&M after 45 years, they moved to Old Mill Place on Tippecanoe Lake, Leesburg. They were active at Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, where she volunteered in the church office for over 30 years. She treasured her grandkids, neighborhood families and friends, music, her pontoon boat, gardening, birds, her gazebo and her belove cats Georgie, Iris and Missy. Survivors are her son, Charles E. (and spouse Marsha) Weaver, Muncie; three grandchildren: Jim Weaver, Dayton; Becky (and spouse Clark) Dawson, Cincinnati; Bob (and spouse Kelly) Weaver, Indianapolis; and 10 grandchildren: Caleb, Sam, Jack, Clare, Max, Foster, Bonnie, Tate, Kate and James. She was preceded in death by infant triplet sisters; her parents; a brother, Fremont Moore, Marion; a sister, Betty Miller, Bluffton; two sisters-in-law, Berneice and Ruth Moore, both of Marion; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Miller, Bluffton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary United Methodist, Ind. 13, Syracuse. A private graveyard service will be Sunday.
