MENTONE – Louise Irene Kelly Dunnuck was born July 4, 1934, in Warsaw, and left this realm to rest eternally in the arms of Jesus June 7, 2026, while sleeping peacefully in the home they built in 2000 near rural Mentone.
Louise had a lot of roles packed into her nearly 92 years of living. First and foremost, she was a devoted lover of Jesus as her Lord and Savior from her early years. She also excelled at being a mother, daughter, sister, friend. She was a prolific china painter, pianist and organist, gardener, farm wife, food demo lady. She was a lifelong learner and avid reader, faithful servant of the church, lover of art and nature and crocheter. In her later years as a resident of Grace Village, she had a humble but strong influence for Jesus with many of the staff that cared for her.
Louise was the second daughter of Russell and Layretta Ransbottom Kelly. She is survived by her brother, Richard Kelly, as well as her sister-in-law, Linda Kelly. Her siblings, Carolyn, Marlene, Alice and Larry, preceded her in death.
Louise married her sweetheart, Forst B. Dunnuck, on Nov. 25, 1953, in Etna Green. Forst preceded her to glory in September 2020 after nearly 67 years of marriage. Together they raised seven children, whom she loved dearly: Joyce (Alan) Welch, Darrell (Kathy) Dunnuck [children, Lauren (Andrew) Fischer and Michael (Stasie)], Tom Dunnuck [children Gabriel, Samuel and Anna], Barbara (Dennis) Croy [children Cathern (David) Zimmerly, Rachael (Bryan) Kerby and Jonathan (Stephanie)], Sandi (Jon) Schaeffer [children Paul and Sydney (Wyatt) Ferree], Steve (Becky) Dunnuck [daughter Katie (Ryan) Mundy] and Jay (Julianne) Dunnuck [children Grant, Abigayle, Brenton and Keira]. Five great-grandchildren also survive. Son, Tom, and two grandchildren also preceded Louise in death.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June, 15 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Rev. Dennis Croy officiating.
She will be interred alongside her husband and son at the Wooden Cemetery in Harrison Township, Kosciusko County.
Visitation hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, June 15 at the funeral home prior to the service.
