MILFORD — Lorabell Jane Buhrt, 83, entered her eternal life in heaven at 3 a.m. Oct. 20, 2017.
She was born March 3, 1934, to Ralph and Grace Hall Newcomer. On Dec. 31, 1953, she married Robert G. Buhrt in Nappanee.
Robert and Lora lived for 40 years on a dairy farm, where they raised their family. Lorabell was described by her family as “a devoted, loving wife and mother who always gave of her time and heart.” She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking for her family.
She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church, Milford. She was a 10-year 4-H leader in the Kosciusko community.
She is survived by her daughters, Lana (Ross) Deatsman, Leesburg, and Patricia Buhrt, Goshen; sons, Don (Kim) Buhrt, Syracuse, and Phil Buhrt, New Castle; five grandchildren: Ben Deatsman (Misty), Taiwan; Joy (Luke) Lauritsen, Arlington, Neb.; Beth (Matt) Klaassen, Indianapolis, Jodi Buhrt, Syracuse; and Jay Buhrt, Goshen; three great-grandchildren: Brock and Brant Lauritsen, Arlington, and Quinn Klaassen, Indianapolis; and a brother, Ralph Newcomer Jr., Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W. 900N, Milford.
Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Milford.
