NAPPANEE - Lois J. Meek, 83, died at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009, in LuAnn Nursing Home, Nappanee, where she resided.
She was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Nappanee, to Earl E. and Maggie Evans Reed. On March 8, 1944, in Nappanee, she married Howard D. Meek, who died April 18, 2004.
A lifetime area resident, she was a seamstress and a homemaker. She attended Wesleyan Church, Elkhart.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda (and spouse Glen) DeMien, Nappanee, and Gayle (and spouse Robert) Griffee, Elkhart; two sons, the Rev. Gary (and spouse Lena) Meek, Lynn, and Jerry (and spouse Roberta) Meek, Nappanee; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. John Wrightsam officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
