NORTH MANCHESTER - Lois A. Lytle, 89, formerly of North Manchester, died at 5 p.m. Oct. 8, 2010, in Tina McGhee Healthcare Home, Decherd, Tenn.
She was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Wabash County, to Emmet and Laura M. Speicher Spacy. On May 15, 1942, she married Ralph L. Lytle, who died Feb. 27, 1996.
A school teacher for 34 years, she spent 31 of those years teaching English and home economics in the Manchester Community Schools. She graduated from Chester High School in 1939, received a bachelor's degree from Manchester College in 1944, and a master's degree in education from Ball State University in 1963. She was a member of United Methodist Church, North Manchester; Frances Slocum Chapter Daughter's of the American Revolution; Alpha Zeta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority International; Lake Region Florida Red Hatter's Society; and was active in Wabash County 4-H. She attended the Laff Galore Clown Ministry.
Surviving are two sons, Keith (and spouse Connie) Lytle, Estill Springs, Tenn., and Mark Lytle, Haines City, Fla.; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
