Local Police Receive Continued Funding For Operation Pull Over

Local law enforcement officials have been notified that they will receive $48,000 to continue paying for Operation Pull Over, which pays for overtime patrols aimed at seat belt enforcement and drunk driving patrols.

The federal money is administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and administered locally by the Town of Winona Lake.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department will receive $21,400, Warsaw will receive $10,000 and Winona Lake will receive $2,000 for patrols.

Other towns receiving $2,000 or less include Syracuse, North Webster, Mentone, Milford, Silver Lake and Claypool.

Winona Lake will receive $4,800 for administrative costs.

The grant pays for overtime costs from Oct. 1, 2017, to Sept. 30, 2018.

The award was announced Friday at the Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety.
