Lindsey Petersen Of Akron Named Recipient Of Teamsters Scholarship Fund Award

WASHINGTON – The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Scholarship Fund announced the recipients of its Class of 2026 scholarship awards, which includes Lindsay Petersen of Akron.
Lindsay is the daughter of Michael Petersen, a member of Teamsters Local 710 employed by UPS. Lindsay is a recent graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School and will attend Huntington University in the fall.
Teamsters Local 710 represents over 12,000 members locally in a variety of industries, according to a provided news release.
The Teamsters Scholarship Fund awards 600 $2,000 scholarships each year, and in just three years, more than 1,600 scholarships have been awarded. The money raised for the Teamsters Scholarship Fund comes from Teamsters local unions, Joint Councils and member service providers. The Teamsters do not allow any employers to donate to the Scholarship Fund.
Teamsters scholarships are awarded to high school seniors planning to enroll in four-year college after graduation, community college transfer students and students who plan to attend trade or vocational schools. Applicants must be the daughter, son or financial dependent of a Teamster.
