Editor, Times-Union: I feel it necessary to write this letter in response to some of what I’m reading. I’m very thankful that in this country we still have the freedom to say what we believe and say it publicly. That being said, I strongly disagree with a writer saying anyone is foolish (i.e. “Miller’s Folly”) or calling someone a simpleton publicly. This is not wise. True wisdom comes only from the creator. His wisdom tells us life begins at conception and it tells us not to murder. I use this as my yardstick for measuring candidates for office. Do they oppose abortion? If so, they stand for life. They are displaying godly character. Deuteronomy 30:19 says God gave us a choice (a vote if you will) between “life and death, blessing and cursing.” We are living in very dark days and we need leaders who will choose rightly, wisely, according to “True Wisdom.” If they will choose “life” on one issue, they will choose “life” on all issues. Again, I say that I’m very thankful for our freedoms. I encourage all who can to get out and vote. Please vote for life and not death. Timothy Mikel Mentone
