Editor, Times-Union: First, I would like to say in no way am I trying to be contentious. I respect and commend those of you who chose to express your views and sometimes what you believe. With that said, does anyone around this area adhere to separation of church and state?
I read all these good letters to the editor about someone's gnarly political views from different people in the community, then out of nowhere you throw me a, and I quote, "if only he (Osama Bin Laden) had chosen to follow the example of some loving man and woman who faithfully followed our Lord, Jesus Christ." Now I know we are in the "Bible Belt," but let's drop the Bibles for a second and stop letting it interfere with our political process and the way this country is run.
So Osama wasn't thrown a Bible, he was thrown a Koran and a very deep hatred to the west. Maybe we should forget how he would be with Christianity, and wonder why it's been five years since Sept. 11 and still no Osama. Or maybe wonder why I have Marines dying in Iraq everyday, still no WMDs and a country on the edge of civil war. Did I mention there is still no running water and electricity in most of the country since I was there. That democracy we are spreading over there is awesome!
Better yet, here is a good one. We have a President and other individuals who care more about wasting our tax payers' money on homosexual rights, embryos who don't even have a name yet, and the welfare of Israel when I got American citizens in the southern states living like refugees since last year.
Who knows, maybe a Bible would have been better for Osama. Then instead of a Muslim extremist, he would have been a Neo-Nazi Christian conservative like Pat Robertson and George W. Bush. What great men of God they are. One calls for an assassination of another country's president, and the other is America's Greatest Failure who has people at his feet because at the end of every horrible speech he says, "God Bless America." Don't get me wrong, it's been awhile since my last confession, but God he's my main man. He is great in our homes, our places of worship, and in our hearts, but not in our politics.
One more thing. The holiday season will be upon us soon so when you go pull that trigger at the gas pump and are still complaining about high gas prices, remember who's pulling that trigger in Iraq for you. Cause no matter what, it's for oil.

'Z Hotel'
Editor, Times-Union: Hey, you creative Zimmer executives and planners - where did you get the name "Z Hotel" for your fine new facility? Sounds like a building located in Elwood where they couldn't think of street names so they just used the letters of the alphabet to designate streets.
How about the "Lake Hotel" if you want to maintain tradition - or if you want something with a little more pizzazz - The Hip Joint.
Just trying to be helpful (and have some fun)!

Pierceton Problems
Editor, Times-Union: I will be real clear this time:
My point in the e-mail was there are common sense solutions to the community-wide problems we are experiencing. My point was to why waste time, as a community, and to have a town meeting discussing issues that can be solved with existing law(s).
It was not an attack on the Pierceton police, it was, however, a response to make the Pierceton residents wake up and resolve some of the "bigger problems."
By "bigger problems" I mean if your children are riding mo-peds illegally then the Pierceton parents need to start being accountable for what their children are doing.
If ATVs are being used on the streets of Pierceton illegally, and if the operaters are in violation of the law, then deal with it through the existing laws.
And if the ATVs are operated by minors, than we need to talk to some parents.
Bottom line is this, everyone in Pierceton, or anywhere for that matter, is held to the one thing called "accountability." Someone is accountable somewhere, in any situation, no matter what that situation is, good or bad.
So, in conclusion, to the people in Pierceton, and my neighbors, stop having town meetings, stop wasting tax dollars and the energy in pointless discussion, and start being accountable parents, residents and human beings.
So I still say, "wake up Indiana communities."
And if I offended any officers in the area, I simply meant that if they were not doing the jobs assigned to them, then in that case a discharge would be in order for those officers, just like if I was not doing what I had to do at my job where I work.
