Wonders About KABS

Editor, Times-Union:
I have a simple question that I hope to get an answer to concerning the Kabs Bus Company. I know that this company picks up and delivers people in Nappannee, Atwood and Etna Green areas. So my question is why can they not pick up or deliver someone just outside of town with a Warsaw address? I stopped in today to see if they could pick up my daughter from school and bring her home, which is maybe three miles from the school at most. I was told no they did not come this far. Now why is that? This makes no sense to me at all. We are local and yet they go all the way to Nappanee. ... Please ... where is the reasoning in that? I think that maybe we need a new bus company that will service Warsaw like it really should and worry about the other communities after that. I would like to hear others' opinions that are just outside of town that cannot get the rides they deserve.

Literacy Group Says Thanks

Editor, Times-Union:
On behalf of the board of directors of Kosciusko Literacy Services, I would like to thank our community for its continuing support of our agency. During our raffle at Downtown Days, we were able to raise approximately $450 to assist new readers, those working toward earning their GED and our students learning English as a second language. We would also like to thank the area merchants who graciously donated merchandise for our raffle.

We are blessed to live in such a caring and giving community. Together, we CAN make a difference!
