Birthday Thanks

Editor, Times-Union:
I would like to take this time to thank everyone who attended the open house for my 85th birthday. It was so good to see many of my old friends. A very special "thank you" to Michelle Bormet and the City Council of Warsaw for organizing and hosting the event. I am truly blessed to live in such a loving and caring community.

Whitko School Board

Editor, Times-Union:
I would like to say how very disappointed and upset I am with our school board at Whitko, with the exception of Mr. Mike Braddock. As elected officials of our community, you totally disregarded the people who put you there! Nothing Nurse Lee did or did not do was severe enough to deserve this betrayal. You have put a wonderful caring human being through a horrendous ordeal. Do you sleep well at night? Probably you do. I am ashamed of our community.

Our school board members have a long hard road ahead of them. Hopefully they do not repeat their mistake of last week's vote on any other major decisions that lay ahead.

Missing Pictures

Editor, Times-Union:
I lost some very precious pictures evidently at the fair. The last time I saw them was at the Echo of the Past tent when I showed them to a friend. They are old pictures of my great-grandparents, my mother and brother taken in Pierceton when he was a baby. All told, there are five pictures of family history. Can you help me?

If you have found these pictures, call me at 269-6260 or send to:

Lost Integrity

Editor, Times-Union:
Four members of the Whitko School Board lost their integrity last week when they fired a 12-year employee. No one spoke out against the employee, but hundreds signed a petition to keep her. The board room was filled to capacity. Many spoke of good things about her, but the stone-faced board members voted 4-1 to terminate her employment. The fired employee for 12 years took excellent care of our children. Perhaps other employees now should watch their backsides in the future!
