Editor, Times-Union: The new Medicare approved discount card is very confusing to many, but there is help. SHIIP, which stands for Senior Health Insurance Information Program, has volunteer counselors all over the state. This is a free service operated under the Indiana Department of Insurance for senior assistance with any medicare or payment for prescriptions related questions.
To reach a volunteer counselor, just call the Kosciusko Community Senior Center at 268-2132 or SHIIP state office at 800-452-4800, Ext. 4, and ask that a volunteer call you. There are four volunteers in the Warsaw area.

Farmers Deserve Respect
Editor, Times-Union: Today as I was driving to work I was behind a farm tractor towing equipment, and witnessed a driver who was rude and impatient, honking his horn and finally flipping off the farmer!
If you live outside the city limits, you should anticipate farmers in the summer and leave early, don't blame him if you are late.
Those of us who are fortunate enough to live in this great country should be glad to see the farmers and more patient with them.
We should thank God we live in a country that not only feeds all of us, but much of the rest of the world.
Don't be impatient, don't honk your horn, instead thank God and the farmer who works from before daylight to well after dark for your benefit.
