Hearn Questioned

Editor, Times-Union:
I would like to address Mr. Hearn and the prosecution office. Mr. Hearn recently stated in The Times-Union that he was going to spend his time on victims of crimes and drug issues. I find this statement preposterous. This was a statement made for the public, with no intent to carry out. I am asking that victims of crimes and parents of the children of crimes to let me know how he and his office have handled your situations so that when election time returns the community will know just how well he has served his people. I will take it upon myself to compile a log for the victims. I have read recent articles in the paper and can understand the hurt of the parents whose molester of two girls got probation when the burglar got 10 years. It is time the prosecutor remembers who he serves and not hide behind the Victim's Assistance Center to screen all his calls.

Thanks Parks

Editor, Times-Union:
The Baker Youth Club members, staff and board of directors would like to thank Jon Garber, the Warsaw Parks Department and its hard-working staff. This past week the staff at the Parks Department spent several days painting, building new benches and many new improvements to the Pete Thorn Center Gym. The City Parks Department not only spent many hours themselves, but also purchased and had put down a new gym floor, which was desperately needed. The staff worked extremely hard and it shows, just stop in and check it out. The new gym floor and the work done looks awesome, and the kids are going to really enjoy it.

Again, a big thank-you to the Parks Department and staff for all they do to help with building youth in our community.

Even Clergy Wrong

Editor, Times-Union:
The recent decision of 11 Methodist ministers is similar to the perversion that infected the clergy of the Catholic Church over the last 30 years. Without a doubt this cancer of the Christian church will spread across this nation just like the lawlessness of elected officials breaking their oaths and their state laws by officiating marriages between homosexuals and lesbians.

Sexual immorality comes in many forms, adultery, sex out of marriage, men with men, woman with woman, prostitution and sex with animals, God forgives all with true repentance. Continue to practice any of these sins and you risk a not too favorable judgment from God.

Perhaps the Methodist ministers in Washington should actually read their Bibles. God is quite clear how he feels about sexual immorality.

Geneses 19
Leviticus 18:22
Deuteronomy 23:17
Romans 1:24-27
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and 18-20.

Their decision has helped to propagate the further decline of the moral fabric of our nation. These ministers have shamed their church and led their congregations down a dangerous path. These very congregations should rebuke their ministers and realign themselves with God.

God's Law

Editor, Times-Union:
This letter is in response to Brittany Kusserow. God ultimately decides right and wrong. But, I believe that you should understand something about the founding fathers. These men were deeply religious Christian men who were escaping religious persecution. No where in the Constitution does this document ever say anything about the separation of church and state. The only thing that this document says is that there is no state-sponsored religion. You see, Brittany, people have been saying this for so long that people honestly believe that this is in this document. Please research this document. People like Alan Dershowitz state this so much that it sounds like it should be there. It is said so much that a religious person does not seek public office. What a shame.

There are some things that predate the Constitution, and that is God's law. Unfortunately, we all answer to God's law, and some issues break God's law like gay marriage. Marriage is a religious institution. This institution predates the constitution. I choose to follow God's law.

Thanks Kosciusko

Editor, Times-Union:
I want to take this opportunity to thank the Kosciusko County community for their incredible support during our "Most Wanted" lock-up, to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The event, held March 16, pledged $30,250! Special thanks to our Lock-Up participants who dedicated their time and efforts to raising funds for MDA's local patient services program, as well as their generous contributions.

A large part of the success of the event is due to various local businesses and community leaders that sponsored the event. I would like to thank Applebee's for hosting the event and Centennial Wireless for donating cell phones and air time. MDA would like to thank the Sheriff's Department, which provided transportation for the "jailbirds."

Jailbirds that raised their full bail, $1,050, and sent two kids with muscular dystrophy to summer camp received a free DVD player. Top jailbirds include: Bill Degaetano, Dig's Diner, $2,167; Ken Strong, Ken Strong Productions, $1,605; Jason Schultz, $1,354; Cherly Schooley, Touch of Class, $1,140; Diane Stafford, Stafford's Solid Waste, $1,111; Jeff Smucker, Danco, $1,100; Jeff Burgin, Lassus Bros. Oil Inc., $1,075.50; Tracy George, Kosciusko County 4-H Office, $1,075; Lyn Kerber, $1,065; Myra Bixler, $1,050; Joanne Rhodes, Rhodes Insurance, $1,050; Dan Damron, Dan the Karaoke Man, $1,050.

It has been proven to me time and time again that the Kosciusko County community cares enough to make a difference. The dollars raised from the event translate into direct local patient services that benefit families who live right here in the Warsaw Community. Support groups, our MDA clinic at Lutheran Hospital, MDA summer camps, assistance with wheelchair purchases ... these are just some of the services MDA can provide because of your support and generosity.

Thank you for making a difference in the fight against neuromuscular disease.
