Editor, Times-Union: Tuesday the 22nd, Tippy Valley seventh grade boys basketball team played Edgewood Tigers at Valley. The score stayed close throughout the game. Both of the officials were from Warsaw. This game was very important to the players. Whichever team lost did not get to continue and their basketball season was over. Some of these players are all about basketball; they play their hardest every game. The officials are a critical part in a game. The referees obviously did not think about the Valley boys. They just wanted Warsaw to win. They were calling terrible calls whenever Warsaw would get behind. Because of their bad calls they caused the Vikings season to come to an end. Warsaw's basketball season should be over, not Valley's. I think that everyone who was in that gymnasium knew that Valley should have won. The final score of the seventh grade Valley v. Edgewood game was 40 to 41 with Edgewood winning. Warsaw has the officials to thank for that one!

Try Ivy Tech
Editor, Times-Union: In reference to "What would it take to get an community college in Warsaw?" You answered your own question. A couple of years ago the state passed laws making Ivy Tech a community college so more people can get an higher education. As for having to juggle a schedule, that's what you do in college. As for having to travel, if more people would try Ivy Tech locally first maybe they could offer more classes. In closing, I've received an degree from Ivy Tech and currently working toward another. If you want more information just call Ivy Tech and they will answer your questions. Thank you.

Hats Off To Winona P.O.
Editor, Times-Union: Hats off to the Winona Lake Post Office! It is one of the friendliest, most helpful places around. I go there at least once a day, and I always find it to be a pleasant experience with a warm hometown feel.
The postmaster, Jerry DeTurk, goes out of his way to answer questions and explain the requirements of various mailings, and the employees have the gift of keeping the line moving while giving words of encouragement and making the customers feel special.
I asked an employee about the impressive flag flying outside under the Stars and Stripes. It stands for The Order of the Yellow Jersey Award, an award based on customer service feedback for accuracy, consistency and professionalism. I am pleased, but not surprised, that they received this honor!
