NORTH MANCHESTER - Leonard "Hager" Prater, 67, of North Manchester, died at 4 a.m. Sept. 11, 2010, in his residence.
He was born July 19, 1943, in Silver Lake, to Asberry and Nazzie Bailey Prater.
He had worked at the former Bendix Corp., North Manchester, and ParKan, Silver Lake. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam from 1966-68. He was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are three sons: Len Edward Prater, North Manchester; Robert Lee (and spouse Tammy) Prater, Liberty Mills; and Samuel T. Prater, Warsaw; three daughters: Jessica (and spouse T.J.) Harner, Kokomo; Angie (and spouse Earl Jr.) Ward, Warsaw; and Jennifer Hopp, Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Stacy Prater, Athens, Ala.; two sisters, Rosalea (and spouse Paul) Blanton and Rachel (and spouse Lonnie) Harmon, all of North Manchester; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren with Pastor Kelly Beutler officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Marion National Cemetery.
Calling is two hours prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
