Legene “Jean” A. Smith, 92, of 908 N. CR 300E, Warsaw, died Dec. 5, 2011, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.
She was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Etna Green, to Orris S. and Artie Hauck Baker. On Dec. 14, 1941, she married Doyle Smith, who died June 26, 2002.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she graduated from Etna Green High School in 1937 and was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, Doyle D. (and spouse Barbara) Smith, Leesburg; a daughter, Beverly (and spouse Kenny) Miller, Warsaw; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Young, Bremen, and Doris Guy, Winona Lake. She also was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Lee Kantenwein officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
