Two men were injured, including one from Leesburg, after an SUV rear-ended a tractor.
According to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash news release, at approximately 9:42 a.m. Monday, Vincent Lenox, 63, Huntington, was traveling east on U.S. 6, east of CR 123 in a 2015 Dodge Journey. Reuben Miller, 29, Leesburg, was traveling east in a Case IH 70A tractor with a trailer attached, also on U.S. 6, east of CR 123.
Lenox rear-ended Miller, causing his tractor flip on its side, according to the news release. Miller was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for an apparent head injury. Lenox was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for complaint of pain.
Lenox stated Miller came to a standstill in traffic as he was attempting to pass, according to the release.
No citations were issued due to Miller not able to recall any information from the crash.
The Dodge sustained front-end damage, while the tractor and trailer had damage all over.
The release states Lenox was wearing a seatbelt but Miller was not.
