Leesburg Man Charged With Sexual Misconduct With A MinorA Leesburg man was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a minor at least 14 years of age but younger than 16.

Kaleb Scott Dausman, 19, of 811 E. CR 550N, Leesburg, is charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony.

He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:10 p.m. Saturday on a $10,250 preliminary bond.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Feb. 22 a Warsaw Police Department officer took a report from a Department of Child Services worker regarding a 19-year-old - later identified as Dausman - having sex with a minor. The information was provided to DCS by a Warsaw Community Schools employee. The DCS worker told the officer the minor was interviewed while the minor’s mother was present. The child said she and Dausman were in a sexual relationship the child said was consensual.

On Feb. 27, the child submitted to a forensic interview at the Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center. The child said she and Dausman knew each other for several years and started dating in October. The child said Dausman knew how old she was and even attended her birthday party. She said she allegedly had sex with Dausman twice at his residence in mid December and mid January. They also allegedly had sex twice at the child’s residence at the end of January and on Feb. 14.

On March 1, a WPD officer interviewed Dausman. He was read his Miranda rights and agreed to talk to law enforcement officers. He allegedly said he and the child were in a relationship for about four months and, during that time, have had sex four or five times with the last time being on Feb. 14.
