LCA’s Harmon Sets Single-Season Three-Point Record

WINONA LAKE – Jake Harmon set another Lakeland Christian record Monday.

Harmon hit four three-pointers to reach 75 on the season, which is the LCA single-season record, as Lakeland Christian won 67-55 in a home game against Noble-Whitley Homeschool. 

Harmon finished with 23 points,, while Braxton Keller had a career-high 19 points and seven rebounds and Landon Twombly recorded nine points and eight assists. 

Lakeland Christian led 21-8 after the first quarter and 33-22 at halftime.

The Cougars held a 51-42 lead by the end of the third quarter, and outscored Noble-Whitley 16-13 in the fourth for the double-digit victory. 

Lakeland Christian will host Community Baptist today in a Hoosier Plains Conference game.

Trojans Soar Over Eagles

ELKHART – Ashton Oviedo scored 15 points to lead the Triton boys basketball team to a 55-48 win Monday at Elkhart Christian. 

Triton (8-12) trailed 14-11 after the first quarter and 21-19 at halftime. The Trojans evened the score at 34 by the end of the third quarter, and outscored Elkhart Christian 21-14 in the fourth for the victory. 

The game was a sectional preview; the Trojans will face Elkhart Christian Feb. 27 in the first round of Class 1A Sectional 51.

Keegan Westafer scored 14 points for the Trojans, while Tye Orsund had 12 points. 

Bryce Coursen scored a game-high 18 points for the Eagles (9-12). 

Triton will host Bremen today.
