NORTH WEBSTER – Laymon F. Chesney, 72, of Warsaw, died at 10 p.m. June 8, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Jan. 31, 1940, in Anderson, to Kenneth R. and Iona M. Foreman Chesney. In June 1957, he married Connie Owens, who died in January 1997. On May 12, 1998, in North Webster, he married Renita L. Price Gordon, who survives.
He graduated from Summitville High School in 1957. He moved to the Warsaw/North Webster area from central Indiana 34 years ago. He retired from Central Trucking Co., Kokomo, in 1994, and was formerly a realtor at Lucas Realty before retiring in 2002.
He was a member of North Webster Church of the Brethren, Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association and formerly attended North Webster Church of God.
Also surviving are a son, Scott (and spouse Jan) Chesney, Indianapolis; two stepsons, Mark (and spouse Jessica) Gordon and Thomas (and spouse Charity) Gordon, all both of Warsaw; eight grandchildren; his mother, Iona Chesney, Warsaw; and a sister, Karon Silvey, Nashville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his father, a son and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at North Webster Church of the Brethren with Pastor Bob Wyman officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery Mock Addition.
