AKRON — Lauretta Lee Moore, 93, rural Macy (Gilead), died at 3:12 p.m. Nov. 24, 2017, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in South Bend, to Lynn L. and Rhea M. Rager Landis.
She spent all but 23 years of her life on the farm which was the home of her grandparents, Vernon “Vernie” and Flora Todd Rager.
She graduated from Gilead High School in April 1943.
She was married to Earl Lester Moore on May 9, 1945, in Fulton.
She worked at American Fork & Hoe (better known as the Shovel Factory), now known as Sonoco Products in Akron. She also worked at Playtime Products, Warsaw, and a was homemaker and helped work with Earl on the farm.
Survivors include three sons: Gary Lee (Sherri) Moore, Peru; Jerry Eugene (companion Mary Pruitt), Gilead; and Terry Lester (Julie) Moore, Macy; one granddaughter, Amanda (Phil) Spann, Wabash; six grandsons: Adam Moore, Virginia; Brandon (Erica) Moore, Roann; Kevin (Sarah) Moore, Denver; Joshua (Heather) Moore, South Bend; Christopher (Grace) Moore, Peru; and Jordon Moore, Macy; four great-grandchildren: Thomas, Conner, Ainsely and Aubrey; one brother, Leroy (Rose Anna) Landis, North Manchester; one brother-in-law, John Hoover, Warsaw; one sister-in-law, Helen Landis, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Lester Moore, on June 5, 2005; a sister, Loreen A. Hoover, in 2012; and a brother, Lloyd R. Landis, in 2016.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Burial will be at Akron IOOF Cemetery.
