Lakeland Christian Academy announced the college signing of Parker Stewart to continue his soccer career at Indiana Wesleyan University.
As a senior, Stewart was in the top 2 for scoring goals for the state of Indiana and for most of the season was in the top 20 in the nation. In the first Sectional game this year he scored his 100th high school career goal finishing his high school career with a total of 101 goals.
Stewart was named this year to the ISCA First Team All-District 2 Team. He was named to the NLSC First Team for the past three years and NISC Second Team his freshman year along with being named NLSC All Conference Player.
Being a lead scorer for his travel soccer team, Stewart has played for the Indiana State Team and the Midwest Regional Team for the Olympic Development Program.
When asked about Stewart, LCA head coach Dan Miller added, “Parker Stewart is a great leader and worker. Not only was he our leading scorer, but he was also one of our hardest working and competitive guys on the team. He has the physical tools and tactical knowledge to succeed at the collegiate level. I’m excited to see how he contributes to the success of Indiana Wesleyan next year. He will be missed next year, but he has set a legacy of hard work, success, and a Christlike attitude for future players to try and emulate in our Lakeland Christian Academy program.”
On choosing Indiana Wesleyan, Parker states “Aside from me loving the school itself, the team and their mission as a family is what really stood out to me. It’s not just an ordinary group of guys. It’s something more than that, and God is the main focus through all of it”.
The son of Scott and Jennifer Stewart, Parker is a member of the National Honor Society and carries a 3.9 GPA. At Indiana Wesleyan, he plans to major in Finance and Business.
