Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy held its Dec. 3 meeting at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
The session focused on the orthopedic and health care industry in Kosciusko County.
Jackie Gustafson, DePuy; Brad Bishop, OrthoWorx; Jeff Rockett, Parkview; Karen Kauffman, Warsaw Home Helpers; and Jason Zaugg, Kosciusko Community Hospital, discussed career paths and employment opportunities at their organizations and in the community.
Students learned the variety of educational paths the speakers took to get in their current and past positions.
Bishop detailed information about Project Lead the Way and talked to the participants about non-traditional college jobs.
Rockett’s presentation covered the variety of careers available at the hospital which students may not have considered were health care-related such as campus police, marketing and finance.
The next session, centered on leadership styles, will be Jan. 10 at Grace College.
