Kosciusko REMC (KREMC) volunteered at Tracey’s Trailer Bike Safety Rodeo on Friday, May 1 as a part of KREMC’s Wired to Serve Program.
This program is new this year and provides quarterly opportunities for KREMC employees to serve at local nonprofits in the community, according to a news release from KREMC.
Tracey’s Trailer Bike Safety Rodeo is run by Kosciusko County Velo (KCV) Cycling Club and focuses on teaching elementary-aged students how to ride a bicycle and bicycle safety rules. This provides students with the confidence to navigate their local neighborhoods or trails by bicycle. This specific event was attended by more than 285 students from five Warsaw schools over the course of the day.
Nine KREMC employees volunteered over the course of the event, providing a total of 54 hours of combined community service. They assisted with passing out snacks and water, adjusting bike seats and teaching kids to ride bicycles.
“I feel blessed to work for such an amazing company that encourages community give back, being able to be volunteer with Tracey’s trailers bike safety rodeo was amazing!
