Kosciusko REMC (KREMC) will hold its Drive-Through Annual Meeting on June 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the KREMC facility.
Members who attend and vote in the Board of Directors Election will receive a $10 bill credit, a free boxed meal and a special gift. New this year, KREMC is also offering an online voting option.
This annual event provides KREMC members with the opportunity to participate in the democratic process by voting for candidates for the KREMC Board of Directors. Democratic control is one of KREMC’s core values as an electric cooperative, and this is a key event in allowing members to cast their vote for the board candidates that will lead the cooperative forward, according to a news release from KREMC.
During the annual meeting, members will drive through the KREMC property at 370 S. CR 250E, Warsaw, cast their ballots, and receive their free meal and gift, all without having to get out of their cars.
This year, members will also have the option to vote online at their own convenience from May 26-June 9. Members who vote online can attend the drive-through meeting for the $10 bill credit, free meal and gift, but they cannot vote a second time.
Members should receive a voting ballot via mail before the annual meeting, and there will also be extra ballots available at the event. These ballots will have a QR code members can scan to access online voting, and the KREMC website will also have a link to online voting. Members will log in to the online voting platform using their member number, which will be listed on their mailed ballot, and their zip code.
“We always value the opportunity to meet our members in person, but we are thrilled to offer an online voting option this year to ensure everyone has a chance to participate, regardless of their schedule or other responsibilities,” said Tim Landrigan, president and CEO of KREMC.
Drivers in the community should note there may be extra traffic on East Old 30, South 250E and Lake City Highway (U.S. 30) near the Kosciusko REMC building on the afternoon of June 11. Law enforcement will be present to help safely guide extra traffic.
The Annual Meeting Broadcast video will be released the week prior to the drive-through meeting on Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m. Viewers of this video will have the opportunity to take a quiz after watching it and be entered to win $100 bill credit, a $50 Amazon gift card, a $25 Marathon gas gift card or a $10 Starbucks gift card.
