Kosciusko County’s Only Revolutionary War Patriot To Be Honored

Posted

Join the Daughters of the American Revolution in honoring Adrian Anglin, Kosciusko County’s only Revolutionary War patriot buried in the county.
Born Nov. 16, 1761, in Virginia, Anglin served as a private during the war under Capt. Mosby. He was given land in Kosciusko County in return for his service, where he lived until his death on Aug. 31, 1839, according to a provided news release. He is buried at Stony Point Cemetery near Clunette, and is the only verified Revolutionary War patriot in the county. His wife, Mary McClung Anglin, is buried by his side. Many Anglin descendants still live in the county today.
To celebrate America’s 250th, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter will be installing a plaque at Anglin’s gravesite to recognize his service and contribution to the founding of our country.
