Whether you’re from Kosciusko County or just visiting, the Kosciusko County Visitor Guide can help you find restaurants, festivals and more.
Thursday morning, the Kosciusko County Visitor Center celebrated the release of the 2026-27 Visitor Guide with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Kosciusko and North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chambers of Commerce.
Cori Humes, executive director of the Kosciusko County Visitor Bureau, explained, “Our Visitor Guide is our showpiece piece for visitors when we’re trying to welcome them and get them to stay, but it’s also a resource for the residents as well - trying to discover what to do in Kosciusko County, be a tourist in your hometown.
“But how we utilize it is, for visitors we print 45,000 of them. They are distributed throughout the whole state of Indiana. We take them to travel shows. We put them in all of our welcome bags when we’re welcoming groups or businesses to Kosciusko County. ... All of our partners utilize them. It’s just our way to showcase Kosciusko County to visitors and residents alike.”
The Visitor Bureau is always trying to promote “Live, Work, Play” in the county, and the Visitor Guide is a used as a resource to showcase that slogan.
“We’re just doing a fun launch party today to showcase it off this year. We’re proud of it. We’re so grateful for all the partners and advertisers in it to make this happen, and especially we work locally with the papers to help distribute it for us as well, so we’re grateful for the partners and advertisers,” Humes said.
As quickly as the Visitor Guide is launched for one year, the Visitor Bureau begins to think about it for the next year.
“We call it a 2026-2027 because we usually do about an end-of-February to February/March, our timeframe this year. So we’ll start brainstorming for next year in the next couple months, and we really start grinding when it starts with advertising in June. So it’s almost a six- to nine-month process, usually more closer to the nine months by the end, by the time we sign off on it and go to print,” she stated.
The 2024 Kosciusko County Visitor Guide won Best Visitor Guide in Indiana at the Indiana Tourism Association Awards last year. Humes said they also submitted the 2025 Visitor Guide for the awards at next week’s conference.
“We hope to bring it home two years in a row, so cross your fingers for us,” she said. “So it is a showpiece piece. We’re so proud of it. We’re so glad of all of the assets and attractions this community has to showcase, and others are seeing that as well. So we’re just really honored to be able to have won that.”
Without their partners, the 100-plus lakes and all the activities that happen in Kosciusko County throughout the year, she said they wouldn’t have “this beautiful piece to showcase.”
The Visitor Guide will be in the Times-Union on Wednesday, March 18 for home-delivery customers.
Other places people can find the Visitor Guides are at the Visitor Center, 111 Capital Drive, Warsaw; the advertisers, libraries, The Village at Winona, downtown Warsaw, North Webster and Syracuse visitor centers and chambers of commerce, Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce and throughout the whole county, to name a few. The Toll Road has copies, too, to get visitors who come off of there. The Visitor Guides are free.
“So you can find them pretty well throughout the county if you’re interested,” Humes said. “You can also find it digitally on our website.”
The website is at https://visitkosciuskocounty.org/
“New this year, we just wanted to showcase that we’ve added some sample itineraries to doing the arts and culture recreation sections, as well as” some other sections “where we have some sample itineraries. That’s new for us this year. So if someone’s looking and they’re not quite sure where to start, if they’re interested in art, if they’re interested in outdoors, they can find some sample ideas of what to do while they’re here. So that’s new this year,” Humes said.
The Visitor Center, 111 Capital Drive, Warsaw, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located next to Bob Evans, and the Visitor Center also has a large digital sign. There is a 24-hour vestibule where the Visitor Guides can be picked up if the Visitor Center office is closed.
