Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday for the WL Cafe and The Playspace at WL at Winona Lake Grace Church as they joined as Chamber members.
The WL Cafe and The Playspace at WL opened to the public in September.
Executive Pastor Tim Wright said the church started thinking about the church’s spaces and the community coming out of the Covid pandemic. The church recognized people need places to gather.
“We love being in this neighborhood and in this community,” Wright said.
The church wanted to make sure they used their space in a way that would allow them to open their doors “wide open the rest of week to our community.”
Winona Lake Grace Church has been excited how both areas have been received by the community, especially the Playspace. They have new families joining the Playspace all the time.
The Playspace is for elementary school children and younger. Wright said he believed there was a maximum capacity of 69 people.
At the WL Cafe, a lot of espressos, coffees and smoothies are offered.
Wright said he hopes both spaces are a great way for people to connect with each other and a way for the church to serve the community.
The WL Café is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The Playspace will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
