Kerlin Receives President’s Award For 3rd Consecutive Year, 6th OverallSILVER LAKE – Of the 3,100 Ford Motor Co. franchise dealers in the U.S., only 300 received the President’s Award this year for 2022.
For the third consecutive year, and sixth overall, Kerlin Motor Company in Silver Lake was one of them.
Mike Murphy, Detroit regional manager for Ford Motor Company, said Ford Motor Company has been giving out the President’s Award for about 30 years. It recognizes the top performing dealers as it relates to giving great customer service every day.
He said all of the franchise dealers work on giving great customer service. What sets the top performers apart is the dedication every single day with everything the staff does.
“It’s a total team effort,” he said. He said he is always amazed at how much effort and time is spent in the customer service, parts and other departments to make sure the car owners have a great experience.
He said the recognition from the award gives employees pride knowing they’re giving customers good customer service.
When presenting the award to Kerlin employees and co-owners Rick Kerlin and Valerie Warner, Murphy said receiving the President’s Award is a big accomplishment and something to feel proud of as only 10% of franchise dealers receive it. Getting the award in back-to-back years is even lower. Getting the award three years in a row shows Kerlin’s dedication to the business each and every day, he said.
Murphy brought up some of the statistics about Kerlin. Kerlin has been open for 96 years, while Ford Motor Co. is celebrating 120 years of being open. Last year, Kerlin completed 3,065 repair orders, which Murphy said made sure car owners were taken care of.
Murphy said what the staff do each and every day matters.
After Murphy spoke, Kerlin and Warner spoke.
Kerlin thanked employees for taking care of their customers and doing a great job.
Warner thanked the Kerlin employees and reminded them they are important no matter where they were in the company.
