The KCHE Eagles, a faith-based Kosciusko County homeschool volleyball team, were crowned the 2026 Indiana Homeschool Volleyball Junior High State Champions this weekend at The Ark in Greenwood. The Eagles’ junior high team is made up of 7th and 8th graders.

The Eagles finished pool play with a 3-1 record and entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed among 11 homeschool teams from across Indiana. The team went 6-1 overall during the tournament weekend, ultimately bringing home the state championship after defeating teams from Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Franklin, and other areas of the state.

Several Eagles players made significant contributions throughout the tournament. Makenzie Wise led the team in hitting with 34 kills, followed by Eloise Barrette with 24 kills. From the service line, Mary O'Shea recorded 25 aces, Kimberly Piper added 18 aces, and Anna Cosby contributed 15 aces.

The weekend brought together homeschool athletes and families from throughout Indiana for two days of competition and community. The Eagles’ championship is a testament to the hard work, teamwork, and dedication the players have shown throughout the season.

“We are incredibly proud of these girls and everything they have accomplished,” said Lauren Twombly, junior high coach of the KCHE Eagles. “They have worked hard, supported one another, and continued to grow throughout the season. It was exciting to see all of that work come together this weekend.”

The state championship marks a significant accomplishment for the KCHE Eagles and the Kosciusko County homeschool volleyball community.

The Eagles will continue their season with a few games remaining on their schedule. The team currently holds a 20-3 record and plays its home games at Baker Youth Club in Warsaw.
