KC Great Place To Live

Living in a small community in Northern Indiana might bring someone to ask, "What am I doing in this town? What does Kosciusko County have to offer me?" A lot!

While attending a community program called the Kosciusko Leadership Academy, I learned a lot of good reasons for living here.

I've heard friends and family across the United States complain about their law enforcement, healthcare options, economic stability and more. You know these discussions as I'm sure you've encountered them. This very concept alone makes Kosciusko County such a rare gem.

During the course of the Kosciusko Leadership Academy, I had the chance to speak with officials who directly impact these issues right here in Kosciusko County. KLA introduced me to Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins and other local elected officials, experts in the orthopaedic industry, leaders in agriculture, law enforcement, healthcare experts, economic experts and other key leaders in the area.

Over the course of these classes, I picked up on a consistent theme in the guest speaker presentations. Unlike many counties, Kosciusko County businesses really work together. The sheriff's department and local police department work together to give the best possible service to the citizens. Healthcare professionals, EMS, police, judges - everybody is working together to give us, the citizens of Kosciusko County, the best possible life possible. That fact, backed up by a strong local economy supported by the orthopedic and agriculture industries, help create an amazingly strong community that we often take for granted. I, for one, am happy to be living in such a resilient community.

If you are interested in learning more about Kosciusko County and being a leader in this community, I encourage you to consider signing up for the next session of the Kosciusko Leadership Academy. You get to meet with all kinds of leaders and learn how they are working to make Kosciusko County the best place to live (and how in simple ways you can help).
