ELKHART - Kathryn L. Wambaugh, 91, of Elkhart, died at 1:40 p.m. May 23, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Warsaw, to John and Nora A. Bules Blosser. On Feb. 26, 1943, in Elkhart, she married Christian F. Wambaugh, who died July 14, 1988.
She retired as a registered nurse at Elkhart General Hospital, where she was a floor supervisor. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Starlite Chapter 181. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, South Bend, in 1941.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including caregivers Betty and Abe Wertenberger, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Elkhart, with the Rev. Tim Diemer officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.
Calling from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, and one hour prior to Wednesday at the church.
