SYRACUSE - Kathryn E. Jehnsen, 85, of Syracuse, died at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 8, 2007, in her residence.
She was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Lebanon, Pa., to John F. and Anna Stroman Brightbill. On May 30, 1942, in Lebanon, she married Ernest R. Jehnsen Sr., who died Jan. 26, 1995.
She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1940, and attended Bethany Seminary, Chicago, Ill., She was a homemaker and a pastor's wife. She moved to the Syracuse area from Nebraska 25 years ago. She was a member of North Webster Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie (and spouse Garry) Tom, Syracuse; a son, David (and spouse Debra) Jehnsen, Galena, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Julia (and spouse Dean) Faringer, Denver, Colo., and Ruth (and spouse Robert) Smith, Trotwood, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.
A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Olive Cemetery, Wakarusa. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Webster Church of the Brethren, North Webster, with the Rev. Robert Wyman officiating.
