RUSSIAVILLE – Karen Jean Rogers, 69, of Leesburg, died at 1:49 a.m. Jan. 8, 2012, in Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born July 23, 1942, in Kokomo, to Michael Joseph Vuchres and Estelle V. Harrison. On Feb. 2, 1961, she married William “Bill” Rogers I, who died Nov. 8, 2004.
She was a 1961 graduate of Kokomo High School. She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a bank teller for 15 years at Lake City Bank, Warsaw. She was a former member of Indian Village Methodist Church, Cromwell. She was the district and council PTA president in Alhambra, Calif.
Surviving are four children: William (and spouse Lupe) Rogers II, Covina, Calif.; Jeffrey Rogers, Cave Junction, Ore.; Michael (and spouse Naomi) Rogers, Cary, Ill.; and Ann (and spouse Andre) McGriff, Las Vegas, Nev.; her mother, Estelle Summersett, Milford; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home, Pierceton, with Duane Ginder officiating. Burial will be in Indian Village Cemetery, Cromwell.
