MILFORD – June Schermerhorn, 92, of Leesburg, died Oct. 8, 2011, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Milford.
She was born June 2, 1919, in Milford, to Roy and Anna Crowl Pinkerton. On Sept. 7, 1940, she married Paul Schermerhorn, who died Nov. 6, 2006.
A lifetime area resident, she was a member of New Salem Church of the Brethren and a graduate of Milford High School. She was a homemaker and worked for The Papers.
Surviving are three daughters: Becky Honeycutt, Indianapolis; Patricia (and spouse Richard) Lucas, Naples, Fla.; and Cynthia (and spouse Dan) Sundberg, Sylvania, Ohio; two sons, Steve (and spouse Connie) Schermerhorn, New Paris, and Doug Schermerhorn, Republic of Panama; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maryann Hummel, Warsaw. She also was preceded in death by two children, two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Salem Church of the Brethren, Milford, officiated by the Rev. Doug Schermerhorn. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Milford.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
