June Janel Tess, 72, of 664 W. Hoppus Road, Warsaw, died at 6:35 p.m. May 14, 2009, in Select Specialty Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born June 20, 1936, in Aruba, West Indies, to Aaron D. and Josephine Matlon Alcorn. On July 13, 1957, in Chicago, she married Robert "Bob" J. Tess, who survives in Warsaw.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident since 1962, she was an educational secretary at Madison Elementary School, Warsaw. She was a member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, Pierceton.
Also surviving are a son, Dr. Daniel E. Tess, South Williamsport, Pa.; a daughter, Karen (and spouse Michael) Ignasiak, Warsaw; a brother, Warren D. Alcorn, Weaverville, N.C.; and a grandson, James Ignasiak, Warsaw.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 408 W. Catholic St., Pierceton, with Father Bruce Piechocki officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
