Juanita I. BoganwrightJuanita I. Boganwright, 93, of rural Claypool, passed at 1:51 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at Grace Village Retirement Community of Winona Lake.

Juanita was born on May 22, 1928, in Argos, to the late John and Susie Fear. Juanita’s mother passed at her birth. She was then raised by Horace and Hannah Rickel, who were her aunt and uncle. She lived her entire life on the family homestead. She was married on March 2, 1957, in the Mentone Methodist Church, to Richard E. “Dick” Boganwright; he preceded her in death on March 7, 2009.

She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School in 1946. Juanita was a proud homemaker. She loved her family and her farm. She had operated the farm since she was a young girl. Juanita hosted her family for Sunday dinner at her home for decades and rarely ever missed a Sunday. One of her specialties was her beef and noodles.

Juanita had been a lifetime member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church. In earlier years, she had been a member of the Lady’s Aid. She enjoyed tending to her garden and attending games at Tippecanoe Valley. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and even got cable just to watch them.

She is survived by her son, Tim and wife Sara Boganwright, of Claypool; son-in-law, Randy and wife Kristi Alber, of Rochester; grandchildren: Derek Alber, Dana and husband Todd Meyer, Daren and wife Brittani Alber, Trent and wife Hannah Boganwright, Tyler and wife Emmy Boganwright and Sofie and husband Austin French; nine great-grandchildren; and three nieces.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle; husband, Dick; and daughter, Theresa K. Alber.

The funeral service will take place on 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 at the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, with Pastor Butch Troke officiating.

The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, next to her husband.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Beaver Dam Church to be used for Wheels on Fire to assist the community members who are fighting cancer.
