Joy & Sorrow

On Sept. 11, 2001, I drove from North Webster to Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie to witness the birth of my granddaughter and at the same time view the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on TV.

What a glorious day this was to see my beautiful granddaughter arrive in this world. During her birth we had to watch in horror as Americans lose their lives by these vicious cowards. And now a beautiful 9-year-old has lost her life as a result from the actions of a deranged insane individual.

I cannot fathom the sorrow and anguish her father is going through. This is something which will have a lasting impact on me as a grandparent. I just wish there was a way I could convey my condolences to this family.
