NAPPANEE - Joy L. Duzy, 87, of 3115 Pleasant Plain Ave., Elkhart, died at 11:59 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009, in South Bend Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Nappanee, to Melvin and Ida May Wyman Hoffer. She married Henry J. Duzy, who died April 18, 1990.
Living in Elkhart County most of her life, she was a 1940 Nappanee High School graduate and a homemaker. She was a member of First Church of God, Elkhart, and Women of the Church of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy and Sherrill Duzy, both of Elkhart; a son, Ron Duzy, Elkhart; a granddaughter; and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by five brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Church of God, Nappanee, with the Rev. Rob Meckley officiating. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
