SYRACUSE — Joseph V. “Joe” Richards, 70, Syracuse, passed away at noon Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1947, in Goshen, to Virgil Otis and Olivene May Ott Richards.
He graduated in 1966 from Syracuse High School and was a lifetime Syracuse area resident. He was married on June 28, 1980, to Deborah A. “Deb” Holmes at Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse; she survives.
He was employed at Fairmont Homes, Nappanee, for 24 years and Royal Outdoor Products, Milford, for eight-plus years.
He is survived by his wife, Deb Richards, Syracuse; a daughter, Taylor Richards, Syracuse; a son, Ben (Melissa) Richards, Haltom City, Texas; two granddaughters, Katie McKinney and Halle Richards; two brothers, Larry Richards, Syracuse, and Mark (Carol) Richards, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Richards.
No public services are planned.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
